Once upon a time there was a boy named Levi. He grew up
outside of the small town of Riggins in the even tinier town of Lucile, Idaho.
Here he spent his childhood roaming the hills in search of prize antlers,
swimming the Salmon River, picking blackberries (eating most but saving a few),
and fishing. Little did he know but about eight hours south there was a girl
named Heather living in Idaho Falls.
She spent her childhood playing with dolls, running through the
sprinklers, baking cookies with her mom (eating a few but saving most), and
babysitting.
Years past and the little boy and girl grew up. Levi went
off to serve a mission in Santa Rosa California and a year later Heather went
to college at BYU-Idaho. Levi learned to work hard and rely on the Lord and
Heather learned the same. They
both had their ups and downs, which come with growing up. When Levi got back
from his mission he also decided to go to school at BYU-Idaho with the intent
of using his skills of working hard to help him in school and his skills of
hunting for his prize antlers to help him in his pursuit of a wife.
Now it just so happens that this boy and girl, just like
Cinderella and Prince Charming, met at a dance. Now country dancing is not
quite the grand occasion like unto a ball but it is a place where many girls go
in hopes of finding their prince. Heather was sitting at the side of the dance
floor waiting for a line dance to get over when a friend from work came over to
her and said he had someone he wanted her to meet. He then called Levi over and
introduced the boy and girl.
Was it love a first sight? Well, the two of them certainly
did not burst into song about already knowing each other because they walked
with each other once upon a dream and there was no glass slipper or true loves
first kiss. However, it did not take long for the two of them to fall in love.
Levi and Heather spent the remained of the dance together.
When Levi asked Heather for her number Heather suggested that he walk her home
and then she would give him her number. He happily agreed to do so.
That weekend Heather went on a trip to Colorado so the two
of them text. When she got back on Monday they made plans to go for a walk
together. Tuesday they went on a date to devotional. Wednesday the made dinner
and went country dancing. That night Levi asked if he could hold Heather’s
hand, kissed her (after missing once), and became Heather’s boyfriend. A little
over a month later they were engaged and two months after that they were
married.
The End
(The beginning end of
course, we still have the rest of our lives and eternity to look forward to.)
